EXISTING MUSIC PLATFORMS

As someone who loves discovering new music, I have explored several existing music channels, apps, and platforms to find my favorite tunes. However, I have noticed a few limitations and pain points in my analysis of these apps. One major issue is the lack of transparency in some of these apps.

Many apps do not provide enough information about the creators and developers behind them, which can create a mistrust between the user and the app. Additionally, some apps only offer a limited range of music genres, making it difficult for users to find new music outside of their comfort zone. Another issue I have observed is the lack of clear instructions on how to use some apps, which can lead to confusion and frustration.

These shortcomings in existing music platforms motivated me to create MUSIKO, which focuses on providing a user-friendly interface with a wide range of music genres and high-quality audio, while also prioritizing transparency and clear instructions for users.

PAPER WIREFRAMES

To bring the idea of MUSIKO to life, I began by sketching the desired look and feel of the app. My goal was to create a cool and attractive interface that would appeal to music lovers of all ages, from teenagers to adults.

DIGITAL WIREFRAMES & LOW-FI PROTOTYPE

I created the wireframes for the music app using Figma and refined them through an iterative process. This involved reviewing and iterating on the design until it was well-optimized and ready for prototyping, resulting in a seamless and intuitive user experience.

MOCKUPS, HIGH-FI PROTOTYPE & FINAL PRODUCT

I utilized mockups to provide a more detailed visual representation of the app's interface and used high-fidelity prototyping to simulate the app's functionality and user flow. This process helped refine the design and identify areas for improvement before moving on to development.

LESSONS & TAKEAWAYS

Creating a music app as a UX designer can be a challenging but rewarding experience. Throughout the process, I was driven by my passion for music and the desire to create an engaging and seamless user experience. To achieve this, I conducted thorough research on the topic, including general user research, to gain insights and understand user needs. One of the challenges I faced was finding the right balance between functionality and simplicity in the app's design. However, through iteration and feedback, I was able to overcome these challenges and create a well-designed music app. Overall, this project taught me the importance of collaboration, research, and attention to detail in creating a successful app that aligns with user needs and goals.
